Transform Orientations panel

Transform Orientations panel

The select button of this panel lets you select the current transform orientation (equivalent to the transform orientation select button in the header).

Next to it, the plus button (CtrlAltSpace) is used to create a new orientation based on the current one that is applied to the selected elements.

When a custom orientation is selected, it appears a new text control where you can see and change the name of the orientation. Next to it there is a delete button, used to delete the selected custom orientation.

Just after creating the orientation, the Create Orientation panel in the Tool Shelf gives a few options:

  • Text box for naming the new orientation.
  • Use after creation ticked leaves the newly created orientation active.
  • If the new orientation is given an existing name, a suffix will be added to it to avoid overwriting the old one, unless Overwrite previous is ticked, in which case it will be overwritten.
