Time problem

When you read the documentation, it could be that:

  • there's plenty of time
  • there a limited time
  • there's NO time at all, I need to know this NOW

Quantity

  • Maybe I don't have time to read lengthy pages even if I need it to learn everything
  • In a certain page, I don't have time to discern between stuff I know and stuff I don't

Webpages time problems

  • In order to read and use the software at the same time, I need to switch among applications, this takes time!...
  • ...and concentration btw, which takes time to reach.

Wiki

  • If the page got updated, I have no idea what they changed.
  • In wiki you can look at the page history but this... takes time!

Forums

  • I have to read tons of people opinions to get to the solution. This... takes time!
  • I would like to have those solutions organized and categorized.

Paper time problems

  • What I read on the book is different from what I get in the software, it's already out-of-date... ugh, need to go online and find the solution
  • Reading and using the software at the same time is not always practical
  • This is even more evident on a job, and especially if you are working with the client (also you seem a bit unprepared...): you cant read the doc NOW, you had to do it before
