Compositing with Freestyle

seperating lines from the image

sometimes you want to edit the freestyle lines without editing the whole image. this is possible with the use of render layers.

the left picture and renderlayer are for color, shadow and others, the right one has the freestyle render layer. the only thing that shows here are the lines freestyle has drawn. you can now modify them in the compositer.
