Blender 2.78: Physics


Dynamic Base Mesh

A new option allows animating the rest shape of cloth using shape keys or modifiers placed above the Cloth modifier. This is especially useful for clothing on cartoon style characters that employ significant squash and stretch, because unless the clothing is also squashed or stretched, it doesn't fit the deformed character. Simulation Speed

It is now possible to adjust how quickly time flows for the cloth simulation, using a new Speed option. (362b3bb)



Collision Group

Similar to what was already supported for most other physics systems, it is now possible to specify the set of objects that particles collide with using a group instead of shared layer. (64d4d6b)

Soft Body

Collision Group

Same as particles, it is now possible to control Soft Body collision using a group. (64d4d6b)
