Note that this information while correct, is getting a bit *noisy*, there are many details about Blenders code depending on what context you edit - cmake / python / glsl / C / extern... attempting to explain all this at once is just adding too dense information which is better added to code-style documentation page.
Sorry for the late response, I haven't checked the e-mail lately. I agree that it should be clarified elsewhere for specific languages/code styles used.
