Add NlaStrip

An NlaStrip is a set of keyframes in a box.

NlaTrack > Nlastrip > Action > keyframes.

They make keyframes easier to organise, repeat.

To make an NlaStrip first you need to make animation then freeze it.

Here ive made an Armature man.

In 3D View select all bones (A).

In Timeline select the 'LocRotScale' keyingset.

In the Timeline or 3D View press (I) to add keyframes.

This will record 'LocRotScale' keyframes for all bones selected.

In Timeline with (LMB) move Time to 20.

In 3D View pose the man.

In 3D View select all bones (A).

In Nla Editor press the snow button.

The action.keyframes have been removed from the Timeline and added to an NlaStrip.

Nla Editor

In Nla Editor press (N) for properties.

You can Rename the NlaStrip it via *Action Strip -> Name: ['Action']

In Nla Editor press (LMB) to move time.

(RMB) select NlaStrip.

(G) move NlaStrip.

(S) scale NlaStrip.

(A) select all NlaStrips.

(TAB) edit NlaStrip.

(DEL) delete NlaStrip.

(Shift+D) Duplicate NlaStrip.

  • If no room a new NlaTrack is added.
