AutoComipleBlender Script for Blender SVN Code
Updated automated Build script for Blender, so that now it will download and build Python, NUMPY, FFMPEG and OpenCollada. Means if your distro doesn't have the right versions of Python, FFMPEG, NUMPY or OpenCollada they will be installed, the script will download the source for those bits of software and compile them automatically. These pieces of software will not need root access to be compiled as they are compiled in your home directory inside a directory called Blender-SVN.
The support dependencies for everything else though does need to be already installed on your system. The build script will try and help with this by mentioning when it cannot find a particular rpm package that it needs to carry out the build process and will offer to automatically install the rpm's it needs.
As such it checks for RPM package names as named by Fedora. You will also need to have the Fusion RPM repository available as one of your repositories, as FFMPEG requires certain support libraries to build that are not available in the standard Fedora repositories.
This script was written for a Fedora and is confirmed to work with the following versions:
Fedora 15/16/17 Linux
This script is a real belt and braces approach it works for me but, you will need to be using a support Fedora version for this to have a hope of working. It may work on other Fedora version, but don't count on it. If you can make this script better please do :)
To try the script, make a directory for it and copy the script into that directory. Then open up a console window and cd into that directory, then type either:
./AutoCompileBlender.sh
or:
bash ./AutoCompileBlender.sh
It should then check for all the required rpm packages, and if found it should start to download the source code for Blender, Python, FFMPEG, NUMPY and OpenCollada and then compile and link them together, hopefully resulting in a build of Blender from the most recent SVN version. Which should end up in a directory called "BlenderBinaries" in your home directory.
Dark Naiad MediaWiki Theme
BlenderWiki by default uses the Naiad Theme. While in most respects it's a very good theme, it has one issue that some users may find objectionable, That is the fact that the colors of the theme are extremely bright. This can make reading large volumes of text a stressing experience. So to try and mitigate this problem, while keeping all the other advantages of the original Naiad theme, I took the original Naiad theme and altered it's colors while keeping everything else the same.
If you are interested in using the Dark Naiad Theme or want to have a go at improving it please feel free to. Instructions on how to install and use the Dark Naiad CSS are contained within the naiad.css file, please read the file for more information. The zip file below contains both the naiad.css file and a series of sample screenshots showing what the theme looks like.
