[edit] DSM and bmesh

- Joeedh is spending new years break working on bmesh code

- The DSM code only lacks PCF soft shadows and volumetrics which joeedh plans to do later. DSM should be ready to be merged to trunk/2.5 soon. Joeedh found some people to test the DSM code and fixed numerous bugs.

- Brecht said that he could review the DSM code but isn't sure how long it will take.

- Ton isn't content with adding DSM to blender just yet.

[edit] Multires GSoC

- Nicholas said yesterday that he would commit his Multires GSoC work into the 2.5 branch.

- Ton is happy with the progress so far, lots of commits!

- Someone is needed to "operatorify" the editmesh code.

- Ton would rather not have random people picking up random tasks for porting to 2.5. Help is needed and Ton would prefer that people working on major tasks would ask for consultation from experienced developers (Ton (kaito), brecht, ideasman, etc. at irc channel #blendercoders @ FreeNode, or at the blender developer mailing lists)

- On Tons TODO list: bringing the code for other edit modes back and maybe some menus for adding primitives?
