- The tiles and anim options are for the game engine only. There's some documentation on it here:

One thing you have to make sure is that the "Tiles" options is set in the Texture Face panel for each face. Example .blend:http://users.pandora.be/blendix/anim.blend

I found some commits related to IK stretch. There might be some additional information in the release notes as well.
