Python scripts in 'Help' section

hi, here migius, i'd suggest to roll back the comment to http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Scripts/Manual/Help/ID_Property_Browser because the script is accessible in 2.48 through main upper menu->help

Hello Migius. You are right. I had realized my mistake late yesterday and wanted to edit the page. Thank you for reminding me to do it. I added a different note because I originally was looking for this script and couldn't find it. It is confusing for a newbie to have one category listed in a different menu from all the other categories. This should be better reflected in the wiki for all relevant scripts. i agree, the blender GUI should be made better, there are many similar inconsistencies there. Everybody is waiting for new GUI in 2.50 version. migius

About discussion pages in 2.49 Manual

Hi Overshoot.tv

We are currently cleaning up talk pages in 2.49 Manual (all listed here: Meta:Wiki_Tasks/Bugs/Talk_pages), which means trying to blank as much of them as possible, given there content is either addressed (i.e. manual page has been edited accordingly), or is mere forum-like question, or is irrelevant (like 2.5 comments in 2.49 pages), etc.

In this context, about Doc_talk:Manual/Materials/Options:

  • The 2.5 comment is irrelevant
  • Your comment about page place might be valid (even though I personnaly don’t think so), but it will not be addressed in 2.49 manual – Material and Texture chapters do need a full rewrite (as I already did for e.g. lighting, modeling or animation), but no one will do it for 2.49 now – we don’t even have enough writers for 2.5, from far…

So I will blank this talk page again – but you are right on one point: your comment should go in 2.5 page, which I will take care of.

Regards,

PS: If you want to answer me, please use my own talk page, so that I’m aware of your answer.

Overshoot.tv, please do stop undoing my work! It’s already rather boring, but having to redo it is even more annoying! This work is a wiki-team decision – it was suggested by mindrones (wiki maintainer) in late 2009, as discussed on the docboard mailing list (esp. http://lists.blender.org/pipermail/bf-docboard/2009-December/003472.html, http://lists.blender.org/pipermail/bf-docboard/2009-December/003479.html and http://lists.blender.org/pipermail/bf-docboard/2010-April/003535.html mails).
If you are against that idea, please send a mail to bf-docboard@blender.org
If you think I blanked something that I shouldn’t have, send me a message, explaining me your point (I already undid some of my cleanups after such messages – everyone does mistakes!). But please note that talk pages are merely here to suggest content enhancements, or point at problems, not as containers of links, tips and tricks, chats, or “user data” – and that their content is not meant to be permanent (anyway, the history keeps track of everything, so if you really need access to those contents, use permalinks).
And finally, try to read and understand a bit the manual and the whole wiki! 2.5 Manual is a separated project, which index’s link is in the right side-bar. Crosslinking between 2.4 and 2.5 pages wouldn’t be wise at all… Also, the NLA page now states clearly that it uses actions, with a link to the action page, which clearly states that only object, pose, constraint and shape Ipo datablocks can become actions (and defines what actions are, btw). Hence, it should be obvious that the NLA can only work on object, pose, constraint and shape animation – and your comment is no more needed!
Again, if you have anything to say about all this above, please send a mail to bf-docboard.
Regards,
