I'm currently working with others on a transkript (not a translation) of the dokumentation (see http://de.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_Dokumentation), because the english dokumentation is too much out of date (and in some parts too technical or not detailed enough). But I'm sure that the english version will get better.

Everything I've written here and every Image I have published on mediawiki.blender.org are licensed under

Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License as well as
GNU-FDL as well as
the default Open Content License.
