The top three buttons governs the preview.

  • Image:Manual-Part-I-Interface-Panel-Shading-Material-Preview-PlaneButton.png - The preview plane only shows the X-Y coordinates.
  • Image:Manual-Part-I-Interface-Panel-Shading-Material-Preview-SphereButton.png - In the sphere-preview the Z axis is the vertical axis for the preview sphere; the X and Y axes revolve around this axis.
  • Image:Manual-Part-I-Interface-Panel-Shading-Material-Preview-CubeButton.png - The cubic preview shows the material preview mapped on three sides of a cube, allowing to see the three possible mappings.
