Tom mentioned his http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/2.50_and_beyond_goals this page is for core devs and core users to make suggestions of 'potential' goals for 2.50 and later. Stuff that might be a barrier to adoption and hence we might want to focus on. None of the items are in any way garunteed to happen.
