[edit] Asset transfer

for those interested in transfering things like weight painting, armatures, animation, and other properties this paper describes a technique for allowing complete transfers of skeletal based animation (as well as textures, UV weight paints, and ultimately even RVK based animations) between extremely diverse models (one example they gave was transfering the animation properties from a cat to a coke can, but also for similar models - ie a cat and a dog).
